Yoga Teacher Training Day 1

Yoga Teacher Training is well underway.  I was a complete bag of nerves today.  This is part of how my first day of yoga instructor training went.  I took a video when I left my job and was on the way to Yoga class.

I got to class early so I decided to go and look for something to eat.  Once I pulled up at the grocery store, I realized I had no yoga mat.  Who shows up at the first day of Yoga instructor training with no Yoga mat?  I was super upset but also thankful that I was early enough to have time to go to the store and pick up a new one.

I ended up driving to Target (which my navigation system said was only 2 miles away but was 10 miles away). I bought a new mat and changed to my yoga clothes in the Target bathroom.  I grabbed a slice of lemon pound cake from the Starbucks inside of Target (because…lemon pound cake) and I rushed back to the Yoga studio.

First day of class was really awesome.  We basically introduced ourselves to each other and went over the class syllabus.  There was a bunch of cool things that I learned either in class or from the required reading but I’ll put those in a different post.  The most hilarious part?  We didn’t even need our yoga mats on the first day.

After class, I started to immediately drive to Target and return the mat but I decided to keep it.  Now I have one in my house and one in my car.  Better to be safe than sorry!

Here’s to hoping that tomorrow’s class goes better.
