My family recently stayed in Pensacola, Florida and we ended up booking a room in the Mainstay Suites owned by Choice Hotels.  The price was right so we booked through Hotwire and proceeded to the hotel.

First Impressions of the Mainstay Suites

We checked in late at night so we couldn’t really see all of the amenities.  The room was clean but dated.  The good news is there were a fireplace and a mini-kitchen.  There is also an outdoor pool but we didn’t have a chance to use it. (We saw this the next morning). The room had a refrigerator and stove and microwave which was kind of awesome.

The hotel provided shampoo and conditioner and soap and had a sign up stating additional items could be provided by the front desk at no extra charge.  The water pressure on the shower was excellent and the hairdryer was upgraded.

The room was initially a bit stuffy but the air cleared up as time went on. This hotel accepts animals so the room that we had kind of smelled like maybe a recent guest had a dog in there.  The room was clean and there was a cool note stating to ask the front desk for additional toiletries if we forgot something.  I like this because often times hotels will charge you for additional toiletries.

Breakfast Bar

The Breakfast Bar had eggs, sausage, french toast sticks, and a waffle maker

Breakfast was included in the price (score!) and the breakfast bar was awesome for what we paid.  There was french toast sticks, a waffle maker, and pre-made cheese omelets.  Everything was clean and well stocked.  We were impressed.  In addition to the standard juice machine, there was a soda machine which was a nice touch.  Speaking of nice touches, I was impressed that the hotel took the time to put out holiday decorations and there was a section off to the side where you could borrow a board game or a goldfish for the night.

The Halloween decorations were a nice touch and my toddler loved them.  The hotel even lets you borrow a fish if you are feeling lonely!

As you can see, the babies enjoyed the breakfast bar.

The Board Games and Crock Pot availability is a nice benefit.

Morgan just had to have a picture with the witch.

Checkout was effortless and fast.  All in all, we were very satisfied with the hotel and our stay.  For the price, it was exactly what we expected and needed.  If you are looking for an economical place to stay when visiting Pensacola, Florida, the Mainstay Suites by Choice Hotels may be a good option.

That’s an interesting place! I like the fact that they allow pets. It’s often sad to leave your canine friend behind, when travelling for a vacation.

We are terrible when it comes to a free breakfast. You’d think we hadn’t eaten in weeks. Haha! Great review!

Wow! This sounds like a great place! We actually have a wedding to attend in Pensacola later this year, so I will definitely check them out!
