I know what you’re thinking…..this is a yoga blog, right? Yes! It is a yoga blog! But it’s also a blog about my journey and right about now my yoga journey has led me to chicken apple sausage soup. Let me explain.
My dentist recently installed a temporary bridge in my mouth. This is basically a fake tooth supported by laying a cap over the adjoining teeth. Anyway, while I’m waiting on the permanent bridge to be made, I’ve been in so much pain lately. Most of it stems from me chewing. So I’ve pretty much put myself on a soft/liquid diet until I go back to the dentist next week.
Anywho, I just finished a power yoga session (where I attempted the crow pose but it was a no-go) and I realized I hadn’t eaten lunch yet. After looking through the fridge, I found this chicken apple sausage soup that I bought from Kroger a few days ago. I figured I’d give it a try!
Sadly enough, my excitement far exceeded the actual taste of the soup. In my opinion, it had great potential but was seriously lacking in seasoning. Never fear, I added a bit of salt and pepper and the soup instantly improved. I did like the vegetable assortment and the pasta noodles that were included in the soup. The chicken apple sausage was probably my least favorite thing which is weird because chicken sausage, in general, is usually very good. In my opinion, chicken sausage is much more flavorful than turkey sausage. (I don’t eat pork so I can’t compare there).
I still recommend the Fresh Foods Market soups from Kroger because they are generally pretty tasty however I will be passing on the chicken apple sausage flavor going forward. I do enjoy their chicken tortilla soup and the aged chicken and broccoli soup. In general, their soups are easy to heat up and they taste a lot better than their canned counterparts.
What are some of your favorite kinds of soup? Let me know! I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting flavors to try!
